Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
