These initial sketches and watercolour studies will then be expanded upon in the studio, with participants completing several interpretive scenes in acrylic paint to be shown in the local community. Participants has sole use of the hotel, which is centered on an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with views over the countryside. Vegetarian Cooking in the Algarve
This Mediterranean cooking retreat, located at a riverside villa in the central Algarve, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of renowned chefs. Participants will master the art of meze spreads, attend a hands-on falafel session, perfect mid-morning meals such as shakshuka, and make substantial main courses like a rich mushroom stew and moussaka. The schedule includes visits to the local market and a local vineyard to taste local vintages, combined with free time for strolls by the Funcho River, to relax on the terrace or swim in the pool. This energetic camp is an energizing, inclusive weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format throughout the camp is a party-style group warmup, then several 90-minute classes teaching different urban dance forms, then an hour-long jam to demonstrate new moves. Participants are divided into groups according to ability and experience, so it is perfect for those who are brand new to street dance, right up to experienced performers or teachers. The camp doesn’t include lodging but there are several places to stay within walking distance, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into London.

Sea Shanty Break in Cornwall
This coastal town is the perfect location for a maritime music retreat. Participants will learn historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and try their hand at composing original ones. The schedule includes voice exercises, breathing exercises, stagecraft advice and a closing performance. The retreat is based at a country house with views of the bay. Full board are included, including a Cornish cream tea on arrival, breakfast options, packed lunches and three-course dinners. Grog, unfortunately, is not included. Writing in Greece
Writer and lecturer Greg Mosse leads the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He covers topics including plot, characters, locations and tension, to sending manuscripts to agents. A co-host, the bestselling author Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the start and finish of the retreat. The retreat is held at a traditional complex in Vamos at the base of the Lefka Ori – 10 one- and two-bedroom cottages surround a garden and pool (non-writing partners are welcome to come along). On the last night, aspiring writers celebrate with a musical performance in the garden and a final meal.

Introduction to Apiculture in Wales
The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth runs a host of programs on eco-living: from creating habitats to upcycling. This weekend course will help attendees get to grips with the fundamentals of beekeeping, explore the biology of honeybees and discover their environmental benefits. It is aimed at produce “bee-friendly beekeepers”. The weekend is also a opportunity to relax in the centre's carefully maintained forests, which are home to wildlife, otters, dormice, lesser horseshoe bats and uncommon bird species. These recently launched weekend sailing courses are spent on dinghies and keelboats on the Blackwater estuary.
